Job Description
This position supervises and develops multi-platform converged enterprise engineering solutions targeted to meet existing, enhanced, and new platform solutions for business and infrastructure services. Leads, directs, or recommends cross-functional team targeted for system enhancements for system performance, reliability, scalability, and capacity. Evaluates product and service solutions.
The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. Essential Responsibilities:
Database & Server DevOps:
Develop database automation for NoSQL Databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Couchbase and RDBMS like (PostgreSQL, DB2, Sybase) to do the following:
- Database server builds
- Apply server OS & database security patching
Collaborate with development teams to support agile release cycles and cloud-native applications.
Programming & Automation:
Develop scripts and automation tools using Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Unix Shell.
Participate in off hours code deployments, disaster recovery exercises and be part of our on call support rotation (approx. one week every 2 months)
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Hands-on experience of administering(DBA) with any one or more NoSQL Databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Couchbase and RDBMS like (PostgreSQL, DB2, Sybase).
- Experience with database install, security, risk, audit, monitoring, access control, backup/restore, patching, vulnerability management using automation tool like Ansible.
- Experience in Linux based systems.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud infrastructure (Network, IAM, IaaS, PaaS etc.)
- Extensive experience of Azure (PaaS – RDMBS and NoSQL)/AWS Database Services (RDBMS – RDS and NoSQL) and other native services.
- Strong experience with DevOps methodology and tooling (GitLab or GitHub, VSCode etc)
- Experience in programing language, specifically python or C#.
- Excellent documentation and articulation skills.
