About the role

We seek a highly organized, adaptable, and experienced Dental Billing Specialist for our six practices in Brooklyn and Queens.

The Dental Billing Specialist is responsible for achieving the revenue targets of the practice. This person must have prior dental billing experience and be familiar with Government and Commercial Insurance plans.

Salary: up to $60,000-80,000 annually depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement effective billing/collection policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with government and third-party regulations
  • Optimize insurance payer contract, pricing, and reimbursement rates
  • Oversee timely claim submission and manage the aging process minimizing denials
  • Conduct pre- and post-appointment audits
  • Handle insurance calls and facilitate the correction of claims/refunds


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of dental billing experience
  •  Proficiency in Dentrix Ascend, Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana
  • Strong knowledge of PPO, DMO, DHMO, and NYS Managed Care Programs
  • Understanding of in-network/out-of-network benefits and fee-for-service
  •  Up-to-date knowledge of ADA billing guidelines and CDT coding
  • Strong knowledge of third party financing; Lending Club, Alphaeon, Care Credit, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities
