Research Analyst - Office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analysis
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites applications for a Research Analyst within the office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analysis. The mission of Institutional Research and Strategic Analysis (IRSA) is to foster a culture of evidence and continuous improvement by providing accurate and timely data and information to university administrators, departments, and faculty to inform their decision-making.

Salary range $55,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience; excellent benefits package.
Qualifications
Duties include:
- Data governance and quality assurance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data management processes and support the implementation of data governance initiatives
- Identify and address data quality issues and discrepancies
- Business Process Analysis and Documentation
- Collaborate with IRSA analysts and with other campus offices to understand business processes relating to data quality
- Document processes, develop data maps, document data definitions, and develop report specifications to support cross-training and for use in published reports and dashboards
- Reporting
- Assist with IRSA internal and external reporting, such as Fact Books, benchmarking studies, required federal and state reporting, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver actionable insights
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
- Ability to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources
- Experience developing scripts and procedures to automate data collection and processing tasks
- Experience performing exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Ability to design new techniques and procedures for the investigation of new problem areas
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and administration at all levels
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
