Job Purpose
The Quality Engineer performs activities that ensure customer contractual compliance, continual quality improvements to products, services, and systems; and corporate compliance to ISO9001/AS9100. Activities are focused around assembling, analyzing and monitoring data for trends, events, and opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical unbiased voice to and from the customer regarding Quality matters and expectations
- Responsible for FAI, customer and government source inspections
- Creating product and process quality plans
- Determines the controls on production devices directly affecting the quality of the product
- Review changes to the product, processes and materials
- Reviews Drawings (that include GD&T) and process instructions for accuracy, risk and completeness
- Assist/resolve Quality in-process issues
- Lead and/or facilitate the resolution of quality issues utilizing the 7 QC tools
- Monitors product/process performance for trends in efforts to prevent the generation of defective material or opportunities for improvement
- Supports product development
- Administers internal and external quality and or process audits
- Communicates with external providers to provide a clear understanding of the quality expectations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System standard (AS9100 is a plus)
Adept with standard measuring equipment.
Working knowledge of statistical process control techniques.
Working knowledge of 7 QC tools
Experienced in modern RCCA (root cause/corrective action) techniques.
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office
