Position Summary
As a Consultant for BSI, you will participate or lead in Environmental, Health & Safety projects as a member of a dynamic consulting team. You will also participate in the design, development, implementation, and delivery of a wide variety of EHS solutions as a technical contributor. You will create and sustain positive client relationships and service delivery to ensure a consistently prominent level of satisfaction and may be responsible for assisting and/or managing staff. As you grow your career, you may be responsible to develop new business for revenue generation and account growth. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assesses client needs for EHS services by conducting facility inspections, interviewing employees, and auditing programs, procedures, and records.
- Develops, implements, and maintains EHS programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of client employees and their community.
- Participates in recommending improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize the hazardous potential and to bring client into compliance.
- Conducts comprehensive compliance assurance reviews of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Research regulatory compliance requirements and provides guidance to clients.
- Develops and delivers EHS employee training.
- Evaluates client compliance to regulations or industry standards and provides recommendations for bringing to code or standard, following up on corrective action, as needed.
- Prepares technical reports summarizing results from audits, assessments and other EHS services and participates in presentation of findings to clients.
- Supports technical projects in the areas of expertise such as safety, environmental, construction safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, business continuity, emergency management and wellbeing.
- Awareness of Environmental Management Systems, including ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 standards, life cycle, gap analysis, and best management practices.
Technician to Specialist Level (Salary Range: $63,970-$95,7000 based on geographic considerations and expertise)
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires undergraduate degree preferably in a science or engineering related field or equivalent professional experience plus, on average, 0-3 years of EHS experience or a master’s degree and up to 1 year of EHS experience.
- Supports all types of EHS project under the guidance and coaching of more experienced staff.
- May support clients in a project-based capacity, as a dedicated onsite resource, or a combination depending on client needs.
- Displays a wiliness to try all types of projects and learn all aspects of EHS.
Associate to Consultant Level (Salary Range: $80,800-$130,000 based on geographic considerations and expertise):
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires undergraduate degree preferably in a science or engineering related field plus, on average, 3-7 years of EHS experience, a master’s degree and 1-5 years, or a PhD and up to 1-3 year of EHS experience.
- Works independently on client projects with guidance from senior staff or staff with specific expertise as needed.
- Beginning project management skills including tracking budgets, coordinating schedules, equipment rental, invoicing, and other work to plan for and perform project work.
- Manages and provides support on client projects from assisting with proposal development to project completion.
- Potentially oversees subcontractors and client staff in program delivery.
- Mentors junior staff and provides assistance and direction in professional technical development.
- May start to specialize in an area of technical expertise.
