Director of Clinical Outpatient Services

Description

The Director of Clinical Outpatient Services is responsible for the daily clinical operation of the program in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other non-clinical staff. The Director of Clinical Outpatient Services will supervise, train, and be the source of accountability for the staff clinicians and interns directly. In addition, he/she works closely alongside the Director of Nursing, and operations departments to assure the clinical components of the facility are appropriately coordinated and meet all regulatory and patient care standards according to standards set forth by the state licensing and other accreditation agencies. The Director of Clinical Services serves as a member of the Leadership Team.

Age of Patient Population Served: Adolescent and Young Adult Males/Females  

Population Served: Persons meeting DSM 5 criteria for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Lead, manage, and hold accountable the clinical team (therapists, family therapists, case management) to the execution of Clearfork Academy programs in accordance with the policies, procedures, and core processes of Clearfork Academy, and according to the standards set forth by any licensing or accreditation agencies.  
• Responsible for working in collaboration with the Director of Nursing  and operations department of the facility in overseeing the management of the daily clinical operations of the facility while demonstrating ethical and professional conduct.  
• Acts as a supervisor for all clinical documents when required.  
• Provide professional and ethical therapy to individuals with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health diagnoses in treatment through group, individual counseling, family counseling, and education. 
• Participates in recruitment, retention and training of clinical staff and interns/students, ensuring that every member of the clinical department is trained, evaluated, and held accountable for following compliance policies and procedures specific to their job duties and functions. 
• Responsible for reviewing clinical operational data to ensure the quality and effectiveness of programming.  
• Provide continual clinical training and education to ensure quality care is provided to all clients.  
• Receive and review client and guardian complaints and address concerns to ensure resolution.  
• Works in conjunction with the Compliance Officer to maintain accountability for the regular data collection, reporting, strategic planning and the design and implementation of clinical quality improvements and consistently seeks and implements methods to improve policies and processes. 
• Collaborates with medical, utilization review, operations, and therapeutic staff regarding client care, treatment, and services through regular leadership of treatment team meetings and other meetings as necessary. 
• Works with Business Development team to foster relationships with referral sources, attend conferences, and participate or lead continuing education events as needed.  
• When appropriate, the Director of Clinical Services will manage a caseload, not to exceed 2 clients in order to facilitate organizational needs, and continually grow skill set. 
• Leads weekly treatment team meetings, Clinical Team L10, as well as participate in weekly Leadership Team meetings (L10). 
• Participate in developing, justifying, and managing the annual budget for department. 
• Responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of Clinical Services to include the Clearfork Way format. 
• Responsible for training members of the clinical team and residential services on regulatory, organizational specific, and therapeutic interventions. 
• Performs other duties and tasks as required. 

Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Education, Training, and Experience Required: 

• Unrestricted licensure in Texas, to include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). (required) 
• Approved supervisor status by state professional licensing board. (preferred) 
• At least two years of experience in the field of chemical dependency and/or behavioral health. (preferred) 
• Current CPR/FA certification 
• Current Handle with Care Physical Hold certification
