Job Description Summary:
PayPal is seeking a Director of Product Management – Seller Risk to lead our fraud and risk defense strategies for our 30+ million small and medium-sized business (SMB) portfolio. This role is critical in driving PayPal’s ability to onboard sellers seamlessly while ensuring robust protections at key risk points—including product provisioning, funds availability, and money movement.As a leader in the Seller Risk team, you will shape product strategy, develop risk-based frameworks, and work cross-functionally with risk, compliance, engineering, design, data science, and business teams to implement scalable solutions. Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute risk strategy for seller onboarding, product provisioning, funds availability, and money movement, ensuring seamless customer experiences while mitigating fraud and financial risk.
- Develop and drive a product roadmap that balances risk controls with user experience and business growth.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with risk, compliance, data science, engineering, legal, and business teams to implement scalable solutions.
- Leverage data-driven decision-making to identify emerging fraud patterns, optimize risk models, and enhance controls.
- Enhance seller trust and experience by innovating on risk mitigation approaches that reduce friction for legitimate businesses.
- Influence and align stakeholders across different functions and leadership levels to drive execution and impact.
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory and financial risk frameworks while maintaining business agility.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team, mentoring product managers and fostering a strong product culture.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5+ years in risk, fraud, or compliance-related products, preferably in fintech, payments, or e-commerce.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to define and execute a vision in a highly complex and dynamic environment.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Demonstrated execution excellence, with a track record of delivering complex risk-based products at scale.
