Job Description

  

Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day HR functions including but not limited to benefits administration (Health & Welfare, 401K, stock purchase plan, educational assistance plan, etc.), workers' compensation administration, leaves of absence administration, recruitment, AAP administration, employee relations issues, training, records maintenance, employee recognition programs, performance management and other various projects.

Develop and implement activities in Human Resources to meet goals, quality initiatives and cost objectives. Selects, develops, and leads personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the Human Resources function and develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.  Prioritizes schedules based on multiple factors and customer requirements. Plans and administers procedures and budgets.  Assignments tend to be of moderate complexity, diversification, or expense.  Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined.  Normally receives instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Detailed Description:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and ordinances.
  • Facilitate communication between employees and supervisors across departments, providing HR guidance to ensure quick, equitable resolution of employee questions.
  • Be a contact and resources for all employees.
  • Perform recruitment activities, interviews, and evaluate candidates for open positions.  Maintains records related to recruitment activities.  Performs outreach to community sources as needed. 
  • Conduct new hire orientation.
  • Process personnel data changes in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compiles various reports from database.
  • Create and maintain filing systems, both physical and electronic.  Ensures compliance with retention schedule.
  • Engage with all employees in the assigned work groups and develop an understanding of their job roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Advise employees who have questions about benefit programs, as well as other related employment or policy issues.
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs.
  • Administer annual focal reviews.  Ensure performance appraisals are written appropriately and completed in a timely manner.  Review merit increases with management as necessary.  Analyzes merit increase to ensure compliance with corporate budget.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Maintain and coordinate educational assistance program.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment process.  Communicate changes to all employees.  Assist employees with the online enrollment process as needed.
  • Assists employee with processing qualifying events in the online benefits system.
  • Submit and track workers’ compensation claims for injured employees.  Reviews open claims regularly with the claim’s adjusters.  Communicate regularly with the injured employees to ensure they are following treatment.
  • Administer leaves of absences, STD, LTD and FMLA programs, counsel employees as necessary.
  • Communicate changes of various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations to employees and management.
  • Creates and updates Human Resources Budget for facility as required.
  • Perform other Human Resources related duties, as required.
  • Ensure that departments within the organization reach goals within budget and a high level of quality.
  • Ensure the working environment is clean, organized, and safe for employees at all times.  Understand and ensure staff complies with all safety and environmental policies and practices.
