The Opportunity
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
The person who is in the Product Management role will be responsible for new product development and maintenance of cardiac ablation products, one of the most exciting, complex and strategically significant families in the portfolio. This person will be responsible for ensuring our products meet customer needs and achieve the established sales or market share targets.
What You’ll Work On
Oversee product development design from marketing perspective, to bring both innovative and iterative products to market that solve clinical challenges in Cardiac Electrophysiology procedures. Implement strategies to successfully commercialize these products globally. This individual should be skilled in understanding customer needs, market dynamics and working across all levels of the organization globally to achieve objectives. This role is high visibility and high impact.
- Identify product/service changes to meet customer needs and partner effectively with other areas of the organization (e.g., production, R&D, clinical affairs, regulatory) to implement these changes.
- Communicate customer needs effectively to the business and effectively prioritize the needs to meet market needs in a differentiated way.
- Develop a deep understanding of the market through analysis and evaluation of global trends, competitive intelligence and consumer behavior to identify new market opportunities for the product/service and generate new product ideas.
- Build coalitions with regional teams to drive product understanding and disseminate competitive intelligence to effectively position Abbott technologies in the market.
- Create financial and market analysis reports in support of new product development efforts.
- Prepare sales forecasts and budgets in support of product launches.
- Adapt plans to improve the sales performance of the product/service.
- Liaise with advertising and promotions specialists and regional marketing teams to design sales campaigns and sales collateral for the product/service that are effective and appropriate for the target audience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5-7+ years’ experience working in healthcare, medical devices, or technology-based products.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong personal initiative to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
