Industrial Engineer/Data Analyst Intern
Our IT Division has an opportunity for a rising Senior or a Masters level intern to join the Workforce Planning team.
The Workforce Planning team builds and maintains data pipelines for operational and analytical assets using standard data analytics practices and industry leading ETL tools. Data assets range from landing zone to standardized layer to conformed layer as well as ones optimized for use that cover the various data domains from claims, membership, and provider to finance and risk. This team also creates and updates long and short-term forecasting modeling of volumes, handle times/work times, and FTE tracking.
What You’ll Do
As the Industrial Engineer/Data Analyst Intern you will extract and analyze data to uncover valuable insights, generate impactful reports and dashboards that drive decision-making, and develop innovative models to provide actionable recommendations. You will collaborate with Principal Analysts and senior management to shape long- and short-term improvement strategies and conduct value analysis of implemented changes to measure success and identify further opportunities.
What You Bring
- You will be a rising Senior or Masters level student at an accredited university or college in May 2025.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Power Bi, Python, JSON, and/or other programming or reporting formats/languages.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Formulas and Functions, Pivot Table, Power Queries, Macros, etc.)
- Experience using Database Management software.
- Curiosity, drive and the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Great time management, communication skills.
Bonus Points
- Experience researching, analyzing, and trending data to interpret results and variances in a contact center/business setting.
- Experience using WFM Tools (Genesys WFM, NICE/IEX, Verint, Teletopti WFM, etc.) or other business tools or CRMs (Salesforce, Facets, etc.) to gather data.
Intern Pay Rates:
Undergraduates: Rising Sophomore: $18/hr
Undergraduates: Rising Junior/Senior: $21/hr
Returning Interns: $23/hr
Masters Students/JD: $27/hr
MBA Students/PharmD: $36/hr
Salary Range
At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
