PK-5 Latin Teacher/Specialist

Thales Academy Holly Springs is currently accepting resumes for a PreK-5 Latin Teacher/Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year.

The mission of Thales Academy is to provide an excellent and affordable education for students in Pre-K to 12th grades through the use of Direct Instruction (K-5) and a Classical Curriculum (6-12) that embodies traditional values.

Responsibilities Include:

• Teaching Latin to students in grades PK–5, with an emphasis on oral recitation, song, and movement to reinforce vocabulary and grammar.
• Implementing age-appropriate lessons that align with classical education principles and cultivate wonder, delight, and curiosity.
• Incorporating music, chants, call-and-response, rhythm, and movement activities to engage students in their weekly learning.
• Using literature, nursery rhymes, and poetry to enhance students’ experience and deepen cultural understanding of introductory Latin culture.
• Fostering and maintaining a positive, orderly, and interactive classroom environment rooted in virtue and respect.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, other specials teachers, and school leadership to integrate Latin instruction through interactive meaningful lessons.
• Participating in school events, staff meetings, and professional development in support of the school’s mission.
• Upholding beauty and order through delivery of instruction, behavior management, and high quality classroom expectations

 

Qualifications:

• High energy and organized with a passion for teaching children
• Direct Instruction or other teaching experience preferred but not required

 

Salary: Salaries are determined by experience and qualifications.
