Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and self-driven Electrical Assembly Technician (EAT) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building control panels, junction boxes, and wiring machines within the assembly operation. You'll work with and without the aid of drawings and/or schematics, and occasionally perform mechanical rework (cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, etc.) as needed to complete tasks.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to):

  • Interpret and follow verbal, written, and drawn instructions
  • Assemble electrical components to back panels and/or equipment
  • Wire components per given specifications
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and functional work area
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while ensuring quality and following safety protocols (including lock-out/tag-out procedures)
  • Report assembly progress and suggest countermeasures to meet schedules
  • Identify and suggest productivity/quality improvements to Supervisors and/or Engineers

What Do You Need to Succeed:

  • Trade school education (electrical focus) or relevant electrical experience
  • Ability to comprehend and execute verbal, written, and drawn instructions, including engineering controls drawings and schematics
  • Solid electrical aptitude with sound judgment, knowledge of NEC code, and wiring techniques
  • Comfortable working with a variety of hand, electrical, and pneumatic tools
  • Ability to diagnose issues and repair problems effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate a fork truck

Working Conditions:

  • Typical manufacturing facility conditions (95% indoors, 5% outdoors)
  • Heated in winter, not air-conditioned in summer
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and perform tasks such as kneeling, squatting, and bending
  • Can be noisy in certain areas due to grinding or machine testing; earplugs are provided and required
  • Ability to work with both live and dead wire conditions (live wire conditions make up less than 20% of the working environment)

Other Requirements:

  • Must have own basic tools (e.g., wrench sets, screwdrivers, pliers, tape measure, etc.). A lockable toolbox is recommended.
  • Required personal protective equipment: safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes, long pants, and a sleeved shirt
  • English and metric tool sets are recommended
