A Carter Lumber Human Resources Administrative Assistant supports the HR department through a strong focus on administrative responsibilities. This position supports the company by managing HR-related documentation, processes, and employee inquiries to maintain compliance and organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information in a clear and professional manner
  • Proficiency in compiling reports and managing HR data
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with VICTIG or JJ Keller is a plus

Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Manage and maintain HR-related documentation, including employment records, compliance documents, and training materials.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the HR team, such as preparing reports, organizing files, and updating databases.

Employee Compliance

  • Assist with employment screening, reviewing motor vehicle records (MVR), and maintaining DOT compliance in alignment with company standards.
  • Ensure all employee-related documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a liaison between employees and the HR department, addressing concerns and facilitating resolutions efficiently.
  • Coordinate communication between HR and store locations regarding employment matters.

Team Assistance

  • Provide backup support to HR team members in areas such as onboarding new hires, answering phone calls, and assisting with special projects or assignments.
