We are guided by our passion to transform the way we power our world. Achieving our goals requires creativity, diversity of ideas and backgrounds, and building trust to effect change and move with speed.
We are Leading Fluence currently has thousands of MW of energy storage projects operated or awarded worldwide in addition to the thousands of MW of projects managed by our trading platform—and we are growing every day.
We are Responsible Fluence is defined by its unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and integrity.
We are Agile We achieve our goals and meet our customer’s needs by cultivating curiosity, adaptability, and self-reflection in our teams.
We are Fun We value the diversity in thought and experience of our coworkers and customers. Through honest, forthcoming, and respectful communications we work to ensure that Fluence is an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
Chief of Staff for Product and Engineering promotes solid execution and fact-based decision-making across the product organization; acting as the ‘connective tissue’ that links all aspects of the CPO organization to the rest of Fluence. This role will work closely with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to provide strategic support and operational oversight for the Product organization and its leadership teams. This person will recommend needed changes in organization to address efficiency, skill set gaps, speed, etc. This position will lead the operating rhythms and liaise with the all-domain leaders on all aspects of day-to-day business operations, including workforce strategy, investment decisioning, streamlining operations, strategic alignment, stakeholder communications, stakeholder engagement, program employee engagement, executive presentations, objective and key result management. A key part of this job will be for the person to define what needs to happen for true horizontal integration between CPO, the regions, Digital, GPO, Services, etc. Once creating the definitions, the person will lead the change management exercises to make the horizontal integration effective – and be given the authority to ensure execution.
The person in this role will evaluate team structure and organizational processes and make informed recommendations for changes that enable the product and technologies teams to enable the rapid scaling of the company. An analogy is the current investment Fluence is making in SAP in anticipation of being a $10B company (happening within the IT team). In a similar way, this Chief of Staff will analyze what skills, processes, tools, changes need to happen in the product organization in anticipation of growth, recommend and then guide the change management that follows. The objective is to design and build a team and operational processes for the company we are becoming rather than the company we are today.
This role will drive speed and competitiveness within the CPO teams (program, product, engineering, software) but also between CPO and other Fluence organizations. Fluence is a company of rapid changes – not only within CPO but in each function and region. This person will stay in touch with these changes and make plans for the Product/Engineering teams to adapt, operate and deliver within the shifting landscape. To do this, this leader will cultivate relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders across the company to develop a comprehensive point of view.
