Job Description
Manager, Audio Mastering will report to the Senior Director, Audio Mastering & Localization. Manager will oversee a team responsible for feature film and scripted episodic audio mastering, audio restoration and preservation, and digital audio archive preparation workflows for Technical Operations. Manager will also collaborate with established senior and peer leadership across multiple divisions within the company.
The manager will directly supervise of a team of IATSE Local 700 Editors, coordinators, and Local 174 schedulers. This team is responsible for coordinating and supervising the creation of Nearfield Audio Mixes, M&E Mixes, Audio Restoration & Preservation. Team is also responsible for researching available audio assets from Universal’s library, preparing and executing Smartsheet tasks, data entry, and rejection research and resolution. Additional responsibilities include introducing workflow simplification and improvements, managing vendor relationships and reliability, making decisions on daily escalation items from direct reports, and partnering with Sr. Director for large scale project implementation.
The manager will work closely with the Sr. Director to ensure accurate data is reported, and orders are executed correctly, within budget, and on time for executive level reporting.
Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership and mentorship for your team.
- Ability to handle and prioritize time sensitive issues and materials.
- Ability to collect and relay accurate information about assets both verbally and written format to business partners and vendors.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Foster relationships and partner with key stakeholders to support your team in defining and driving the cross functional strategy and delivering excellence for your vertical
- Well organized, detail oriented and comfortable with multi-step workflows.
- Highly motivated, energetic and cordial.
- Strong skills in Smartsheet, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
- Handle a wide variety of inquiries from internal and external partners, responding promptly and/or redirecting to the appropriate contact all questions and concerns regarding NBC Universal Audio Mastering.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Leadership experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Post Production or similar field, Audio experience a plus
- 5+ years’ experience with data entry / computer skills
- Experience with Theatrical, Home Entertainment, Electronic Sell-Through, OTT Platforms
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with digital picture and audio formats a plus.
- Proven effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups/levels in org
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Daisy, Mediator, Translator a plus
- Familiarity with IATSE contracts
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
- Must be willing to submit a background investigation.
- Must be 18 years or older.
