JOB SUMMARY:
Provides prompt, courteous food service to Harrah’s and Harveys guests in accordance with established procedures.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Acknowledge customer immediately with a smile.
- Serves customers at assigned station quickly, courteously and efficiently.
- Inform guests of any specials and have a full understanding the menu to answer any questions.
- Know all ingredients in every dish and be able to describe every item on the menu.
- Take beverage order and serve in a timely manner.
- Assists customers in ordering from the menu and suggesting items.
- Records ordered items on check according to established procedures.
- Obtains food and beverage from prescribed locations and serves customers according to established procedures.
- Ensure food and beverage orders are correct before serving to the guests.
- Observes guests to fulfill any additional requests and to note when meal is finished.
- Processes checks through Infogenesis System and presents check to guest for payment on conclusion of dining experience.
- Assists, as necessary, in cleaning and re-setting tables, escorting guests from waiting area to table in his/her assigned section.
- Assists Bus persons and runners in a cooperative manner to ensure efficient service to guests.
- Completes assigned side work as directed.
- Familiarizes self with all items on both printed and daily menus.
- Uses good salesmanship for suggestive selling of menu items, beverages, desserts, etc.
- Processes all open checks and ensures they are properly tendered and/or accounted for at end of shift.
- Familiarizes self and adheres to the principles of guest service skills and use them in all interactions.
- Delivers alcoholic beverages promptly from assigned bar to table.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate preferred
- 2 years Waitperson experience preferred
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Literacy and fluency in English
- Above average communication and interactive skills
- Legible handwriting
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent guest service skills
- Good knowledge of wine and spirits
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
- Must be able to interact with high profile guests while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Acts as a role model to other Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same. Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to constantly lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to frequently lift up to 60 lbs
- Ability push/pull bus carts weighing up to 90 lbs
- Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas
- Ability to grasp, finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination
- Ability to hear and use visual inspection
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and climb stairs
