Description

The Verily People Operations team is looking for an Human Resources Business Partner who will be responsible for executing our organizational and people-related strategy as well as partnering with Verily’s leaders and employees.  

You’ll be a strategic business partner who understands the multidisciplinary nature of business partnering. You will have had exposure to various parts of HR before, and enough confidence and experience to make decisions, offer strategic thought leadership to clients and/or escalate issues accordingly.  You’ll work with a cross-functional group of subject matter experts to respond to inquiries and direct answers regarding how we hire, onboard, develop, motivate, retain and organize. In our hands-on culture, you’ll have the opportunity to work side-by-side with teams across Verily to get things done, including rolling out key programs such as workforce planning, compensation, performance management and talent development. This role requires working collaboratively, strong communication, a heightened attention to detail, superb organization and collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate is someone who is experienced with change management and is comfortable operating in an organization that is transforming and who has experience with either Technology, Healthcare and/or Life Sciences companies. 

We are a dynamic and fast paced organization and are looking for a colleague who is excited about learning the HR function, trying new things, thinking outside the box and offering a creative, yet efficient approach to people programs. This will require you to think big, use data to guide your work, be comfortable challenging convention and in some cases, reinvent how work is done. 

Responsibilities

  • Be the first level of HR representation for leaders and their executive teams in the assigned portfolio. 
  • Offer strategic advice, influence decisions and triage information within the HR team. Provide insightful data to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions.
  • Solve problems and get to the root cause of first tier issues and design and quickly implement solutions that cut across multiple disciplines, even those beyond people and organizational solutions.
  • Provide feedback to employees and managers in the following areas: career planning, performance management, coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning & development, talent reviews, recognition programs, and org design & development. This includes explaining the programs as well as providing context about their usage. 
  • Be a role model and guide for employees. Champion, promote and demonstrate what our culture means in practice. 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of HR Business Partner experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, employee engagement, inclusion and diversity, performance management, coaching and development and employment laws. 
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work within a dynamic fast paced environment while juggling multiple priorities, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done with an execution focused mindset. 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for actions based on the analysis.
  • Skilled communicator with a strong ability to build and influence relationships with leaders and a complex set of stakeholders to drive organizational change.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and navigating complex change management work-streams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000 - $272,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire
