About the role

ICF seeks a Knowledge Management Coordinator to support the efforts of the Capacity Building Center for States, in support of the Children’s Bureau (CB), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) program. The purpose of the Center is to support and enable child welfare agencies across the country to build on and expand their capacities to serve their communities and to keep children safe and families strong.

The Center helps advance the Children’s Bureau’s priorities around shared decision-making with individuals with lived experience, racial equity, and providing prevention-oriented services to help all families thrive. The Center’s KM Team ensures the Center strategically delivers expertise and knowledge in a timely manner that is well-aligned with the needs and priorities of child welfare professionals and agencies.

The ideal candidate will leverage their child welfare knowledge, federal contracting/consultation experience, and skills in project management, coordination, program support, protocol development, event planning, and technology to assure the Knowledge Management (KM) Team achieves contract deliverables. This position is a full-time, fully remote role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and project support to a 20+ member Knowledge Management (KM) Team, including managing monthly and quarterly deliverables, preparing for bi-weekly meetings, and organizing team-building activities.
  • Support meeting preparation and minute-taking. Assist in organizing and providing administrative support for both KM Team and KM Leadership Team meetings.
  • Coordinate logistics for both virtual and in-person meetings, events, and conferences with the client and various partners.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal staff and external consultants via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Provide support on special projects, including research, content assistance, and long-term assignments.
  • Coordinate support functions across Center areas in alignment with KM Team needs.
  • Contribute as a team member on project teams, collaborating with interdisciplinary staff.
  • Assist in producing high-quality written reports, training materials, and presentations tailored to the target audience.
  • Aid in the management of newly developed projects, including process and procedure development.
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with the KM and Peer Services Manager to oversee project timelines, address challenges, and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage projects for the Peer Services team, including supporting the delivery of virtual events, scheduling check-ins and maintaining project documentation and collaboration platforms.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Policy, Public Health, Political Science, or similar field.
  • Position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination or project management.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficient with virtual communication platforms (Teams, Zoom, Mural, etc.).
  • Passion for child welfare and technical assistance, including capacity building, child safety, well-being, and family empowerment.
