Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance

Prepare Weekly and Monthly Financial overview of Business and guide the overall business and leadership team on financial performance
Prepare Revenue Forecast, Budgets, Cash Flow projections at monthly, quarterly, annual levels
Set targets for sales, expenses etc. and do a variance analysis for targets vs actuals at a company level and provide feedback to business teams on corrective actions.
Evaluate need to raise Investments and manage entire fundraise process and investor relationships if and when such a need arises
Work with Sales and Marketing team on pricing, discounting across different geographies considering competitive landscape and our market share etc.

Operational Finance

Maintain Overall Books and Accounts on Zoho Books
Generate manual invoices (if needed, as usually they get generated automatically from Zoho Subscription) within Zoho Books / Zoho Subscriptions and work with Sales team on the same.
Work with Payment Gateways and Banks and reduce payment processing and banking charges (as a percentage) as company scales
Understand International taxation rules and double taxation agreements etc. to guide sales team to factor in withholding taxes, tax deduction at source while quoting prices.
Control and Manage expenses for Vendors and work with respective business teams to minimize expenses on Vendors
Process Payroll and other human resource expenses and coordinate with HR on the same as needed
Understand the Insurance requirements of the company and purchase insurances accordingly
Create and manage Employee Stock Options Plan (ESOP)

Compliances

File all the different taxes as applicable (VAT, Corporate Income Tax) across all the group entities and ensure tax compliances and reconciliations are done in a timely manner
Work on Statutory Audits and Annual filings for each of the group entities
Work with external auditors as and when required to secure the audit reports

Team

As the company grows, build, manage and grow a team forming the Finance Department as needed

Requirements:

Experience and Qualifications:

A Chartered Accountant / Finance degree is a must. A Business Administration degree (BBA/MBA) is good to have.
An experience of 5 to 8 years in Finance function is a must, preferably in Startup / Technology company
Must have a business mindset and be able to demonstrate a capability to derive insights out of financial data and validate them working closely with business functions
Having an exposure to international business would be a great asset, can be waived off if you’re a very fast learner
Being a ‘horizontal’ function, Finance needs to work with all the other functions internally as well as certain vendors etc. so excellent communication skills and clarity of expression is a must.
