PURPOSE:
SEIU’s Data Systems & Analytics department is looking for interns for the Summer 24 period who will broaden their skills in data capacity and analytics. The internship will last 10 weeks and individuals can expect to gain intense, hands-on knowledge and experience in emerging fields related to data systems and analytics, preparing them for a career in a variety of fields.

Data Capacity Intern
- Generate and download lists from the Voter Activation Network (VAN)
- Assist in in various trainings and documentation on SEIU’s various field tools like Mobilize, MiniVAN, and Scale to Win
- Support the administration of volunteer phone and text banks
- Provide reporting support for SEIU’s key campaigns in 2024
- Collect and standardize reporting collecting in Google sheets
- Assist in data collection for events and worker action
Data Engineering Intern
- Learn the basics of SEIU’s tech stack, including SQL, dbt, and LookML
- Collaborate with other engineers to become proficient at pair programming, version control, and code review
- Provide reporting support for SEIU’s key campaigns in 2024
CONTACTS:
Individuals will work primarily with Data Systems & Analytics department staff and leadership.
DIRECTION & DECISION MAKING:
The Data Capacity Intern will report to the Assistant Director for Organizing Data Capacity. The Data Engineering Intern will report to the Assistant Director for Data Engineering.

Must have the ability to work in an office (or similar) setting with or without reasonable accommodation. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, positions may operate remotely.
