In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Seeking a dynamic Industrial Hygienist with strong leadership skills, ability direct IH work plans and develop health & safety control programs for one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States. Opportunity to work as part of a diverse health & safety team to help strengthen health & safety culture and improve hazard awareness for a world leader in manufacturing technology.

Specific Job Duties: 

  • Ability to anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices
  • Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs
  • Lead and advise qualitative exposure risk assessment reviews/processes
  • Measure, audit and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control elements
  • Evaluation of regulatory compliance associated with IH safety programs/policies
  • Manage IH engineer/technician work scopes and plans related to health and safety


Shift: 1st

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in chemistry, engineering, industrial hygiene, safety, or closely related discipline
  • At least 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing industrial hygiene programs
  • Strong customer engagement experience 
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist required or ability to obtain within 2 years from hire 
  • CSP certification is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:

  • Familiarity with hazardous materials, related regulations and NIOSH standards
  • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001
  • Familiarity with OSHA Regulatory/Reporting Guidelines
  • Ability to work well in at team environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Work experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred but not required
