The Department of Food Science is hiring an Undergraduate Program Assistant to provide support for operation of its undergraduate academic program. This position will work closely with the Undergraduate Program Director, the academic Advisor, teaching faculty and with students. This is a student-facing position which will either be in person or hybrid remote (the position cannot be fully remote).
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Process course substitutions in CSRS and update Academic Requirements in LionPATH.
Monitor and maintain student records and progress; perform academic requirement checks and graduation approvals.
Keep student forms, advising materials, and undergraduate program materials up to date.
Provide staff support to the department scholarship process.
Provide staff support to the Undergraduate Program Committee.
Maintain student listservs and department website.
Interface with prospective student and alumni requests.
Assist and participate in recruitment events for example New Student Orientation (NSO), Spend a Summer Day, and other activities, as needed.
Process fleet reservations and bus requests, as needed.
Create and disperse welcome letters and congratulatory and Dean’s List letters.
Assist students and faculty with scheduling courses.
Schedule and attend department and committee meetings, as necessary.
Schedule events, rooms, and meetings in 25Live.
Be knowledgeable of university and department policies and procedures.
Utilize University systems, such as iTwo, Slate, Docfinity, eSteward, and LionPATH to collect and analyze data, as requested.
Coordinate company/recruitment visits to the department.
Disseminate permanent placement and internship postings.
In LionPATH:
Create, build, and schedule all courses, set course controls, and schedule final exams.
Run academic requirements, reports and make substitutions on student audits.
Run queries and collect data, as needed.
