About Us

CarePoint Response, Inc. (CPR) is a nonprofit organization providing behavioral health crisis response services in Baltimore, including telephone crisis support, mobile crisis response teams, residential crisis services, and medical detoxification services. Since 1992, CPR has provided behavioral health crisis intervention and substance use treatment services for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises in Baltimore.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to support individuals on their recovery journey by serving as a mentor, advocate, and role model. In this role, you will engage clients to identify their goals and needs, provide recovery education and harm reduction support, connect clients with community resources, and assist with discharge planning and follow-up support. You will maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with the clinical team to promote long-term recovery and stability.

Essential Functions


Assess participant eligibility and engage clients in identifying their needs, goals, and recovery objectives.
Provide peer support, recovery education, harm reduction coaching, and encouragement throughout all stages of the recovery journey.
Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation of client encounters, plans of care, and required reports.
Connect clients to appropriate community resources and services, including referrals and transportation to appointments or safe environments.
Identify and address barriers to treatment and support access in collaboration with clients and the clinical team.
Assist clients with discharge planning and ensure they understand and have the necessary supports in place for continued success.
Provide ongoing follow-up and re-engagement support to promote long-term recovery and stability after program discharge.
Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, alumni, and other support networks to enhance available resources.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to communicate client needs, improve program quality, and support positive behavioral change.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Education:Β High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience:Β Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, residential programs, or other human services settings preferred.
