About the role:
As a Machine Operator you will be responsible to run one type of softgel product on the softgel machines and spreads the product onto trays for drying. Operator I is an entry level to mid-level position where the individual is learning the basics of a Softgel Encapsulation machine.
How will you contribute:
- Spreads softgels on trays after tumble dryer.
- Maintains supply of tray paper and empty trays at back of dryer.
- Cleans and maintains processing rooms and equipment.
- Sets-up equipment for processing operations.
- Stirs medicine as needed.
- Performs gel/medicine changes.
- Performs or verifies batch record entries.
- Disposes of gelatin netting.
- Starts gel and medicine on a Softgel Encapsulation Machine.
- Maintains mineral oil level in Softgel Encapsulation Machine.
- Learns the basic operation of Softgel Encapsulation Machine.
- Operates the Softgel Encapsulation Machine.
- Checks quality of softgels coming out of the drying baskets.
- Reports malfunctioning machine parts or other irregularities during the production run or changeover/cleaning of the machines to Lead/Supervisor.
- Trains other employees on how to spread softgels, perform changeovers/cleanings of Softgel Encapsulation Machines, monitor Softgel Encapsulation Machines and other duties associated with the department.
- Ensures batch records, equipment log books, and other relevant records are up-to-date.
- Cleans processing rooms and equipment.
- Monitors process and equipment, making necessary adjustments as needed or required, to maintain batch record specifications.
- Follows established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment and performs job duties in a safe manner.
- Performs other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate.
- Minimum 6-months experience in an FDA regulated industry
- Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
Work Environment:
- Noise level for this work environment is typically moderate to high. Some work areas require hearing protection for an 8-hour work day.
- Work environment may involve exposure to chemicals, solutions, detergents, or solvents that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment.
- Work environment may involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell Fish, Milk, Egg, Tree nuts, and Sesame.
