We are looking for a UX Lead to head the design efforts on our next-generation web-based dental CAD solution for dental labs and clinics, while also playing a key role in developing our people, processes, and design culture.

About the Role

This is a hybrid role combining hands-on UX/UI design work with team leadership and people development. You’ll lead the design of a technically advanced, web-based 3D CAD platform—making complex workflows accessible and intuitive for dental professionals around the world. And just as importantly, you’ll help guide and support other designers, contribute to strategic decisions, and help shape how UX is practiced at 3Shape.

As a UX Lead at 3Shape, you will work at the intersection of technology, design, and clinical workflows. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to deliver intuitive, efficient, and elegant solutions for dental professionals around the world.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction of a product used daily by dental technicians and labs, and to design for deep professional workflows with real-world clinical impact.

What You’ll Do

• Lead UX and UI design on a strategic web-based CAD product, from concept to final detailing

• Mentor and coach a team of 2 designers, helping them grow their skills and navigate complex product challenges

• Set direction for design quality—ensuring consistency, usability, and effective visual execution

• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using and contributing to our design system

• Be an integral part of the product team and facilitate collaboration between UX, product, and engineering to create aligned, user-centered solutions

• Conduct user research and usability testing with dental professionals

• Advocate for user-centered design across the organization

• Enhance our design processes, tools, and team rituals

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience designing digital products using agile practices, with at least some experience in a lead or mentoring role

• Demonstrated experience of your ability to simplify complexity through design

• Skilled communicator and facilitator, able to align stakeholders and guide design discussions at different levels

• Skilled in user research, interaction and interface design, and interface development

• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma)

• Experience guiding others—whether through formal leadership or peer mentorship

• A collaborative mindset and experience working in agile, cross-functional teams

Bonus Points

• Experience with 3D/CAD interfaces, dental or medical software

• Background in healthcare, MedTech, or other regulated industries

• Experience with AI tools for UX prototyping and design

You’ll report into the Senior Director of Product, Lab & Studios and work closely with other product managers, designers, engineers, and subject matter experts. The role is based in our headquarters in the heart of Copenhagen by Kongens Nytorv.
