Program Description: Students in grades 6-8 will have the special opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a young artist at ChiArts. For five hours a day, students will be immersed in excellent professional training in the conservatory of their choice and present a final showcase/gallery reception and performances in our auditorium on July 28th

July 7th - 25th, 9:00am-2:00pm

Job Summary:
The Voice Instructor will design and deliver a music curriculum incorporating technical study, ear training, music reading and ensemble experience for daily classes to students in grades 6-8. The instructor will organize and host engaging and fun activities relating to music and prepare students for a culminating showcase on July 25th. Through this camp, students should gain content and skill that they could bring to a ChiArts voice audition.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must be able to commit to working for the entire 3 weeks of camp, July 7th - 25th, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm as well as prior info meeting and a PD
- Experience in middle school music curriculum development preferred
- Experience teaching beginning voice students in an ensemble setting preferred
- Required to submit a curriculum map before camp
- Required to submit requested materials and/or music scores before camp
- Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and have outstanding communication skills
- Organization, leadership and a dedication to working with children is essential
- Commitment to sharing and learning through the arts and the ChiArts mission
- Excellent classroom management skills
