Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates staff services, correspondence, envelopes and mail, schedules, programs, and conference calls. Provides general office support including research for clinical and claim related information, request reprint information. Administers/prepares reports, minutes, presentations, lectures and administrative materials. Organizes and maintains claim files, other inquiry files, deposition files and other department files. Maintains and distributes Weekly Trial Schedule.
  • Maintains the manual with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives including regulatory procedures for Medicare, reports, and notifications as necessary.
  • Answers, triages, and promptly routes to the appropriate person and/or department telephone calls. Assists with telephone problems, works with vendors to establish and verify terms and agreements.  Evaluates and recommends purchasing sources.
  • Maintains all department keys, locks, mailboxes, coordinates ordering and distribution of supplies and handles problems concerning material received. Assists with approval of check requests and invoice approval.
  • Coordinates outside legal counsel representation for meetings with physicians and patients’ attorney on non-Washington University professional liability matters.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings including:  Medical Professional Liability Committee Meeting, Semi-Annual Reserve Review Meeting, Annual Defense Counsel Seminar, Risk Management Meetings, Quarterly Attorney Reviews, etc.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements, including lodging and flights.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

G08-H

Salary Range

$20.76 - $32.21 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
