Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Project General Manager to oversee and manage the look and signage for the FIFA World Cup 2026. This key role will be responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of all visual branding elements related to look and wayfinding while ensuring overall aesthetic consistency across FIFA World Cup venues, non-competition venues, hotels and training sites. The successful candidate will manage multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure that all design and implementation meet the highest standards and align with FIFA’s global brand guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead and manage the overall strategy for the look and signage elements of the FIFA World Cup 2026, ensuring alignment with the event’s branding, goals, and objectives.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the internal team, FIFA stakeholders, and third-party vendors for all signage-related matters.
- Manage the comprehensive project plan with timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.
- Reporting to and working directly with Project Director.
Design and Branding:
- Collaborate with FIFA, FIFA’s design agency, and internal design team to develop signage KOP manual and templates that are in line with FIFA’s global brand standards.
- Oversee and manage the artwork delivery process.
- Consult on consistency in the application of design elements across all touchpoints (stadiums, non-competition venues, hotels, etc.).
Project Management:
- Manage the end-to-end process of signage development and installation, from initial design concepts through to production, installation, and post-event decommissioning.
- Manage Design, Look and Wayfinding team and ensure timeline delivery of project deliverables.
- Oversee and manage Quest from artwork upload to artwork/budget approval to production and logistics.
- Collaborate with Operations team to make sure operations schedule is in line with venue exclusive use dates.
- Support Look and Wayfinding team to manage installation of all visual assets, including venue signage, wayfinding systems, digital signage, event-specific graphics, and other event branding materials.
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of signage placement and integration across multiple FIFA World Cup venues.
- Collaborate with Data and Program Manager on monitoring and tracking project progress, resolve issues, and adjust resources as needed to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Manage service level agreements,
- Collaborate with FIFA and other key stakeholders to ensure all signage meets the specific requirements of each venue and country.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all deliverables (i.e. scope books, budgets, dot plans, message schedules, etc.) comply with FIFA’s standards.
On-Site Operations:
- Work together with the Look and WFS Lead to make sure they oversee the on-site installation, maintenance, and removal of signage at FIFA World Cup venues.
- Manage maintenance requests in central database. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the event to ensure signage remains functional and meets the aesthetic vision throughout the tournament.
Post-Event Reporting and Analysis:
- Compile post-event reports outlining the performance of the signage, lessons learned, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Conduct debrief sessions with team to gather feedback and assess the success of the project.
