Product Owner

Position Summary: 
Wonderschool is harnessing the power of technology to provide comprehensive support to child care providers operating out of their homes as well as in the government and non-profit sectors. Our products enable child care providers to create high-quality environments and meet the demands of their business, while also helping parents in need of childcare solutions through the creation of an accessible marketplace.

Wonderschool is seeking a Product Owner who is passionate about contributing to our mission and purpose through the successful implementation and scaling of our Substitute Teaching Platform (STP).

The lack of available substitutes for early childcare providers can create a crippling ripple effect: if substitutes are not available, fewer children can attend child care. If fewer children can attend child care, fewer parents can go to work. If fewer parents can go to work, jobs go unfulfilled, hurting the overall economy.

This will be a core role on a new, entrepreneurial team within Wonderschool that is launching a statewide early childcare substitute teacher platform to solve this problem.  The initial focus will be on statewide adoption in Mississippi. The longer-term opportunity has no ceiling.

Responsibilities: 

• Launch and manage the Substitute Teacher Platform (STP)
• Collaborate closely with the STP team to ensure effective adoption and usage of the platform
• Manage the STP product development process from idea through design, release, and improvement
• Manage the relationship with the platform-licensing vendor to ensure the timely resolution of issues and implementation of any new features
• Gather customer and stakeholder feedback to establish a product strategy and roadmap 
• Establish metrics to define success and ensure these metrics are being tracked successfully
• Develop requirements for a longer-term platform and make recommendations for build/buy options.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in product technology development
• 3+ years of experience launching and scaling new technology products
• Knowledge of agile methodology for project management
• Understanding of business value related to features and functions
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Entrepreneurial, roll-up-the-sleeves-and-get-hands-dirty mindset
• Team player with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in ambiguous environments

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in EdTech or Staffing
• Experience with SaaS platforms or marketplaces

 

What We Offer: 

Wonderschool provides the wage ranges it reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for all remote roles and as otherwise required by applicable law. The expected range of starting pay for this role is $140,000 - $150,000/year. Actual compensation may vary within the listed range based on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, and specific geographic location.
