Job Description
Are you passionate about cutting-edge broadband technologies and embedded systems? We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an RDK-B Development Lead. In this role, you will be working on a high-profile project with a leading telecommunications company, focusing on the development and customization of broadband devices using the RDK-B platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of software architecture for broadband devices.
- Define the structure and components of complex systems and create architectural blueprints.
- Configure, customize, and build Linux distributions for RDK-B.
- Develop and integrate low-level hardware components and device drivers.
- Customize the Linux kernel, including kernel configuration, device drivers, and kernel modules.
- Collaborate with development teams using Git for version control and code repository management.
- Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Python, TCL, and Bash.
- Develop web-based user interfaces and web server technologies for device configuration.
- Build and maintain DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
Qualifications
Must-Have Experience:
- Approximately 15 years of experience in broadband device development.
- Proficiency in Linux and experience with Linux distributions.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++.
- Knowledge of the Yocto build system.
- Understanding of embedded systems, CPU architectures, memory management, and device drivers.
- Expertise in Linux system programming.
- Proven experience in defining the architecture for broadband components.
- Proficiency in debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.
- Experience with web-based interfaces and DevOps pipeline automation.
Preferred Skill Set:
- Active participation in the RDK-B community.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and software requirements.
- Good understanding of wireless technologies, primarily Wi-Fi, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs).
- Awareness of security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and network security.
- Keeps current with technological developments in the industry.
- Ability to present and defend architectural and technical choices to various stakeholders.
Soft Skills:
- Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective prioritization of tasks in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven customer-facing experience and ability to lead/manage a team of developers and testers.
- Ability to create feasible solutions that meet customer requirements.
