Accounting Specialist (Durham)

Description

The Accounting Specialist supports the credit union's Finance and Accounting areas in daily operations, analysis, and reporting. Responsibilities will include treasury and financial risk reporting for the Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) family of organizations, currently LCCU and Latino Community Development Center (LCDC). Other responsibilities include grants accounting and assisting with cash management and financial modeling.

Requirements

• Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and completeness for LCCU and LCDC.
• Manage grant tracking for both LCCU and the credit union’s membership organization, LCDC.
• Manage accounting duties for LCDC, including organizations that LCDC is fiscally sponsoring, and prepare monthly financial reports.
• Assist VP of Accounting in Property Tax reporting and reconciliation.
• Collaborates?in the preparation of documentation for internal, external, and regulatory audits and exams.
• Maintain records of specialized programs, such as Scholarship Fund and Employees Giving Back.
• Monitor, analyze, and propose changes to deposit rates as necessary.
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting for financial analyses, cash management, and forecasting daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Assist?in documenting and clarifying standard operating procedures and provide updates to the department as needed.
• Identify?and recommend?process improvement?opportunities.
• Key backup in payroll processing and bookkeeping.
• Maintain up-to-date proficiency in relevant accounting software and systems.
• Attend and prepare documents for scheduled internal meetings.
• Prepare 990s for LCCU and LCDC.
• Key team member of analysis of Treasury Operations.
• Assist the Asset/Liability Committee and prepare reports, trends, and analyses.
• Help develop budgetary and forecasting reports.
• Assist with filing quarterly call report with the National Credit Union Administration.
• Perform other duties?and projects?as assigned.
