The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Job Overview / Responsibilities:
· Make markets and provide liquidity in HY Bonds to MUFG’s institutional clients.
· Manage risk across a portfolio of HY Bonds including hedging on both an individual instrument level as well as on a portfolio level. Trader is expected to work closely with research to assess the credit quality and specific credit risk in the desk’s positions.
· Manage the business’s balance sheet including monitoring the settlement and closing process as well as open trades. Pitch trade ideas to clients and provide relevant analysis to support recommendations.
· Work closely with sales to understand the objectives of their clients and how MUFG can assist in attaining those objectives.
· Work closely with MUFG’s Leveraged Finance Capital Markets team and provide market color, views and intelligence to help them assess market conditions for the firm’s issuing clients.
· Work closely with sales and capital markets to help build and expand the firm’s leveraged finance franchise including participating in daily market commentary calls as well as participating in client entertainment.
Job Requirements / Skills:
· Position requires extensive credit knowledge including financial statement analysis and thorough covenant knowledge.
· Position requires advanced fixed income analytical skills as well as the ability to be a “quick study”.
· Position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Candidate must be highly motivated, be a self-starter and work well in a team environment.
Experience Required:
· 10+ years of High Yield Bond trading experience. Must have broad and deep client relationships across both the long only and hedge fund communities.
· MBA or CFA is preferable but not required.
· Series 7 and 63.
· Professional track record of high achievement and success including consistent profitability and significant market share.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $255K - $330K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
