Primary Function of Position

Imagine working on the integration and delivery pipelines for software that can change how surgeons learn about robotic surgery and how hospitals provide standardized training to improve patient outcomes.  Join a team that works every day to make a difference in the world.

We are currently seeking a Software Integration and Delivery Engineer who will be working on streamlining the integration and delivery pipelines for a Simulation Platform that enables VR robotic simulation of surgical procedures and relevant serious games.  These simulators are used by surgeons around the world to improve their robotic surgical technical skills.

The successful candidate will effectively apply their passion, discipline, knowledge, and hands-on scalable application delivery skills in both an embedded and cloud environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a scalable, automated, reliable, efficient, and resilient simulation software and firmware delivery pipeline.
  • Own the continuous integration and deployment of all applications and dependencies developed by the Simulation Team.
  • Develop and maintain Jenkins pipelines to validate each change and assert that every build meets requirements.
  • Address short-term pain points while strategically working towards a next-generation cross-product delivery infrastructure.
  • Develop systems to monitor, report, and alert software issues.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to continuously improve the reliability, security, and performance of the end-to-end Simulation software delivery pipeline.
  • Bridge the gap between dev and ops teams, promoting and advocating for DevOps awareness, practices, and culture.
  • Play a role in incident response to diagnose and resolve problems, minimizing outages and downtime in a high-pressure large-scale environment.
  • Publish design docs, process flows, and runbooks for handling specific incidents and issues.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with software development teams commercializing software at scale.
  • 5+ years in an Infrastructure Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps-focused role.
  • Ability to autonomously manage cross-functional projects, communicate expectations, set timelines, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Bachelor's degree or a related technical background involving software/system engineering, or equivalent working experience.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system metrics and logs to triage delivery issues.
  • Solid experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell.
  • Ability to implement and leverage monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or ELK.
  • Experience with Windows-based hardware installers, MSI, package managers, networking, and security.
  • Experience with SCM systems (git preferred), branching strategies, pull requests, git workflows, etc.
  • Experience with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.
  • Strong communication and team-team-success-oriented collaboration skills.
  • Disciplined debugging skills and tenacious problem-solver
