Human Resources Generalist

Location: Hybrid/75% Remote (Arizona-based preferred)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
 

Position Overview

AMS Impact Group is seeking a strategic and service-oriented Human Resources Generalist to provide multi-campus HR support across the organization

.

This role functions as a shared services partner, supporting campus and central office teams in employee relations, compliance, onboarding, culture, engagement, and HR operations. The HR Generalist will play a critical role in fostering a positive and compliant workplace environment while ensuring alignment with organizational policies, employment regulations, and strategic people initiatives.

This position requires strong relationship-building skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, multi-state educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Culture

• Serve as a trusted advisor to campus leaders and employees on HR-related matters.

• Provide guidance on performance management in alignment with established processes and policies.

• Conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations when necessary.

• Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and respectful workplace practices.

• Partner with leadership to strengthen engagement and foster high-performing teams.

• Analyze employee engagement data and recommend targeted improvement strategies.

• Support recognition and engagement initiatives that align with organizational goals.

HR Operations & Compliance

• Support onboarding processes, including new hire documentation and orientation.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

• Administer and monitor HRIS systems (Workday preferred).

• Provide employees with guidance on policies, procedures, and benefits.

• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure audit readiness.

• Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate timekeeping and compensation processes.

• Assist with HR analytics, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Training & Development

• Deliver HR-related training for managers and employees.

• Provide guidance and coaching to campus administration on leadership best practices.

• Support implementation of employee development programs and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications & Competencies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience.

• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.

• Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday strongly preferred).

• Ability to obtain and maintain required state clearances.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment & Travel

• Approximately 75% remote work schedule.

• Some campus travel required to support employee relations and engagement initiatives.

• Ability to maneuver between campuses as needed.

• Must be able to operate standard office equipment and work at a computer for extended periods.
