We have an exciting remote opportunity for an Enterprise Platform Systems – Middleware Operations Administrator (Remote)!

This IT position is responsible for managing the middleware environments, technical builds and administration at Pratt & Whitney.  Ensuring compliance with RTX policy and OEM best practice for technical configuration and patching.  The position will be part of a team of middleware administrators focused on system builds, refreshes, patching, audit support, policy compliance, and system performance per established business policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Middleware (Websphere Application Server, IIB (ACE), .Net, HCL Commerce, API Connect/DataPower, IBM MQ, IBM Sterling Integrator) system builds, patching, compliance, and oversight.
  • Deploy tools and processes to ensure system monitoring, patching, and performance
  • Support audit requests
  • Support resource planning activities as it relates to middleware tasks and project support
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to Pratt & Whitney business users on middleware systems design, build, tools, sizing, and performance requests

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a technical field and 8+ years of Middleware Operations experience; OR an Advanced degree in Information Technology or a technical field and 5+ years of Middleware Operations experience; OR an Associate's degree with 10+ years of Middleware Operations experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • IBM Websphere Application Server
  • IBM Sterling Integrator
  • eCube
  • HCL Commerce
  • Microsoft .Net
  • IBM Broker / ACE
  • IBM MQ
  • API Connect/DataPower Gateway and ETL Integration
  • Containers/Orchestration (OpenShift, Docker)
  • Application development standards, architectures, and best practices
  • Internet facing technologies, including web services security
  • ITAR and Export regulations as they apply to IT asset access control
  • Unix/application file maintenance
  • Microsoft Windows client software for PCs and servers
  • Project management and oversight skills
  • System security techniques and policies
  • Candidate must also have demonstrated leadership of successful process improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated previous focus on process development and implementation that span organizational boundaries is important
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required including good written and oral communication capability
  • Ability to effectively influence and direct the actions of those not within the direct reporting chain is essential
