Job Summary: The position is responsible for supporting the MRO efforts by receiving, cycle counting, and organizing materials, equipment, supplies, and services in a timely manner. Also researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and assisting the MRO Buyer in any inventory related functions.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain & organize parts within the stockroom
- Monitor inventory levels of parts.
- Labeling parts and documenting location & quantity
- Notifies appropriate personnel when in-house stock reaches order point or when ordered material is past scheduled delivery date.
- Receive, inspect and inventory stock material, parts and tools.
- Receive orders for parts, materials and supplies, verify orders and check inventory for availability.
- Obtain and issue parts, materials and supplies to appropriate maintenance personnel.
- Receive packaged materials coming into the plant on all types of carriers.
- Inspect incoming items and verify against the bill of lading and enter information into the inventory database.
- Sort and deliver packages to appropriate areas in the plant as needed.
- Perform periodic cycle counts of the inventory, expedite orders when required and set up and add items to computer system.
- In concert with Maintenance Supervisor or PM Manager issue parts, consumables, equipment supplies in support of daily/weekly PM’s, Tasks, Work orders based on frequency to optimize effective and efficient planned maintenance activities.
- Maintain a safe clean working environment and perform housekeeping/organization duties in the maintenance department as requested by Supervisor.
- Service as a backup to the MRO Buyer.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- High School diploma or equivalent, required
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations or Material or equivalent experience, preferred.
- 2+ years of purchasing and inventory management experience in maintenance or production environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment and components.
- Detail-oriented, ability to handle transactional work.
- Must be able to perform basic math problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good planning and priority setting skills.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Bilingual, preferred.
Environmental Conditions:
- Office and plant setting. The plant will be constant exposure to temperatures as low as 45 degrees above and/or below. Occasional exposure to temperature below -10 degrees.
- Exposure to small amounts of diluted cleaning chemicals.
- May work in a damp and wet environment daily.
Physical Requirements:
- Required standing for long periods of time and moving throughout the assigned areas.
- Performs continuous repetitive motions.
- Ability to grasp items.
- Ability to move items from/to below the waist and/or above shoulder level.
- Occasional lifting/carrying product up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times on the production floor.
