Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Spectrum Comm Inc., is looking for candidates to support the Fleet Readiness Center, East at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC. Our Ideal candidate will inspect and perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment utilized by the Transportation Support Service department. This includes tasks such as replacing flat tires and batteries, changing headlights, signal lights, brake lights, windshield wipers and belts, topping off fluids, jump start and road service. The Government will provide the Contractor with all materials and tools for minor maintenance. Safety, accuracy, and timeliness of pick-ups and deliveries of aircraft parts, components, and materials are essential factors in meeting established production schedules. Common equipment to be repaired/maintained are:
- Forklifts, electric and diesel
- Diesel Mid Tractor Tow vehicles
- Electric Carts
- Trailers (covered/uncovered)
Other tasks include:
- Manage all equipment inventories and update location as required.
- Coordinate, deliver and pick up equipment for Preventative Maintenance.
- Coordinate, deliver and pick up equipment for repair at the Motor Pool, GSE Shop, or commercial vendor shops.
- Coordinate with venders for equipment warranty repairs to include delivery and pick up as required.
- Prepare work orders for vehicle maintenance using Operator’s Inspection Guide and Trouble Report, NAVFAC 9-11240/13 12-69
- Provide roadside service and equipment trouble calls within the boundaries of MCAS Cherry Point to all FRCE personnel operating FRCE vehicles and GSA vehicles
- Inventory equipment and report findings
- Participate in mishap investigations (as required)
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the equipment assigned and perform pre/post operation safety and functional checks.
This position may be required to work occasional weekend shifts. It is also a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement.
Requirements
- Lifting up to 45 lbs. without assistance
- Vision of at least 20/40 in each eye, with or without corrective lenses
- Vision requirements include color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Work in all types of weather, including extreme hot/cold temperatures and humid climates
- Walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and bending during a work shift
- Dusty and noisy work environments that require wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety toed shoes, hearing protection, and gloves during a work shift
- Operate a handheld VHF radio
- Maintain a valid State Driver’s License
