Security Supervisor

Description

FUNCTION:

Non-exempt position. Supervise and organize the security force. Train the security officers in compliance with the laws and regulations of State and federal agencies.

DUTIES:

· Train the guard force in accordance with the facility and company directives.

· Administer the facility Key Control Program.

· Responsible for all security activities at the facility.

· Has authority to call in off-shift personnel and to request assistance of local law enforcement.

· Advise the facility Plant Manager of any and all hazards/violations and documents corrective actions.

· Able to work with the public and other employees in a courteous and professional manner.

· Write security procedures and reports.

· Prepare the security budget and controls security supplies.

· Responsible for all radio equipment.

· Examine security procedures and programs on a quarterly basis and recommend changes, as necessary to the Plant Manager.

· Responsible for security officer functions in the event that another officer is unavailable or absent.

· Responsible for coordinating operating equipment checks during outage periods.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Occasional field/site work as required where there is exposure to noise, dust and cold/hot temperatures (approx. 20%). Normal office environment (approx. 80%).

Requirements

· Willingness to work with radioactive and/or hazardous material.

· Successful completion of a physical examination, drug test and security background check.

· Willing to perform security guard functions as a shift worker.

· High School graduate or equivalent.

· Security Guard or law enforcement experience preferred.

· Radio communications experience desired.
