Program Coordinator I

Overview

We seek a project manager (Program Coordinator I) to join a collection of National Science Foundation and Spencer Foundation funded projects at Utah State University. The Program Coordinator will join multidisciplinary collaborations that focus on creating family and community learning programs that suit the respective community’s needs. Partnerships include K-12 educators, Tribal Knowledge Holders, Tribal Educators, and other community educators. As Program Coordinator, this position will support a range of projects.

 

The Program Coordinator will be collaboratively supervised by the Principal Investigators, Dr. Breanne Litts, Assistant Professor of Instructional Technologies and Learning Sciences, Dr. Melissa Tehee, Associate Professor in Psychology, Dr. LuEttaMae Lawrence, Assistant Professor of Instructional Technologies and Learning Sciences, & Dr. Nathan Justis, Director of Edith Bowen Laboratory School at Utah State University.

 

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment for 12 months, renewable pending satisfactory performance and funding. Start date will be early to mid-October.

Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator will collaborate with a diverse team of researchers, designers, educators, teachers, scientists, artists, tribal knowledge holders, and community members. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting a community-centered and interdisciplinary research program, collaborating on the design and implementation of learning technologies, programming, and resources, maintaining and sustaining partnerships with community partners across multiple projects (e.g., Indigenous community members and K-12 teachers), support a robust dissemination agenda to share research findings with community partners and the public. The Program Coordinator will coordinate community research meetings, develop and implement community/family programming and workshops, manage research and design responsibilities, and other research duties, such as data collection and analysis plans.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
• Experience in project management and coordination.
• Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience with Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Tribal sovereignty.
• Experience with and/or understanding of community-centered, design research, research-practice partnerships, and/or similar methodological orientations.
• Experience designing and implementing community and/or family learning experiences focused on design, art, and creation.
• Ability to travel for project work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
• Experience leading community and/or family learning experiences in a research context
• Evidence of successfully partnering with community members on shared work
• Experience with research project management, including coordinating and managing data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to independently learn technical expertise as relevant to workshop content (e.g., maker-related technologies, 3D modeling, digital art, etc)
