JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Broker Dealer CFO/FinOp and provides leadership and training to the accounting and regulatory reporting functions. This role entails overseeing month-end close functions, accounts payable, regulatory reporting, MIS, and internal control/audit. The role includes the oversight of accounting processing functions from general ledger maintenance to financial statement preparation, review, and reconciliation. Candidate must have knowledge of accounts payable, payroll, cash collections, bookkeeping, budgeting, regulatory reporting, financial statements, and compliance and finance controls.  Knowledge of PCAOB, FINRA and/or SEC required. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Develops accurate and credible financial plans that are actionable and support business strategy.
  • Proactively identifies and escalates risk/opportunities to plan; assists business unit managers in identifying tactics to close plan gaps or realize opportunities.
  • Interfaces with business executives to develop understanding of and offer solutions for critical business issues.
  • Develops and revises as needed revenue and profit based financial/economic models to drive effective short- term and long-term decisions.
  • Analyzes records of past and present operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses.
  • Evaluates and analyzes capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc.
  • Develops business cases for strategic investments and tracks performance versus value attainment targets.
  • Monitors financial status by tracking actual results against plans and forecasts; identifies trends.
  • Assembles and summarizes data, prepares reports, presents analysis and recommendations; ensures data accuracy and integrity.
  • Provides monthly/quarterly reporting analyzing financial results and performance to plan, as well prepares and analyzes forecasts and performance to plan comparisons.
  • Plans, facilitates, and documents monthly close meetings as well as prepares financial statements and commentary for quarterly Board reporting.
  • Clearly communicates conclusions, analytical findings, and value-added information clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Full time team member of Finance group, including participation in the Financial Close process, back-up for various Finance Functions, Year End Audits, as well as lead/main contributor in other areas as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO/FINOP.
  • Travel to various locations, both within our organization and externally, may be required depending on your role and responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of analytical experience in a Finance or related business role; Financial Services industry a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with financial management and reporting technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in budg
