We have an immediate opening for a Quality Receiving Inspector.
This individual is a key member of the Quality Assurance team. This individual will also interface with Supply Chain, Engineering and Production teams, among others.
Deliverables
Ensure materials and products received from suppliers conform to all product and material specifications, as established per company requirements.
Requirements
- Inspects incoming purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices and instruments.
- Performs Inspections on lots received as directed by the Quality Manager.
- Maintains inspection equipment and ensures calibration is up to date.
- Receives and performs required disposition of RMAs into computerized inventory record system.
- Identifies nonconforming product and ensures it is quarantined. Notifies Quality Manager of NCR and location.
- Moves received, RMA and NCR items to designated location(s) once released to production. May require some lifting – up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of sampling plans and Frist Article Inspection is a plus.
Accountable for:
- Inspecting incoming materials for conformance to specifications
- Assisting in the development of improved quality systems related to incoming inspections
- Accuracy in record keeping for items received and inspected
- Accuracy in record keeping for products to be returned to vendor
Work Environment:
Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Receiving area is partially outdoors.
Some lifting <25 lbs.
Ability to stand for 9 hours/day
Work hours Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4:30 pm. If OT is needed, Fridays 6 am – 11 am.
Required:
- Intermediate level computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, e-mails)
- Capable of operating a powered hand truck and/or pallet jack
- Ability to read blueprints, understand measurements and tolerances
- Prior experience in quality inspecting, including use of measurement tools ls a plus.
- Focus on attention to detail, goal oriented and good attendance are desired traits.
Education:
B.S. in Science preferred or equivalent previous work experience per requirements listed.
