The Coinbase Machine Learning team is committed to developing sophisticated ML models that make our platform more secure, expand usage of Coinbase through personalized recommendations, and improve the user experience for our customers. Our Mission is to keep building scalable, adaptive, blockchain aware ML systems that help our users explore and discover new use cases for Crypto on Coinbase and on the blockchain. 

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Lead the development of new personalization models for diverse use cases (e.g. asset recommendations, search, and news ranking)
• Maintain the highest standards of model quality, performance, and scalability, while ensuring alignment with business goals
• Mentor and guide the output of other ML Engineers
• Work closely with product partners to identify and solve new use cases for ML 

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• MS in Machine Learning (PhD preferred)
• 8+ years of experience (or PhD+5)
• Expert in latest ML techniques (e.g. supervised and unsupervised learning, deep neural nets, reinforcement learning, transformers)
• Expert in coding on ML platforms (e.g. Tensorflow, pytorch)
• Capable of architecting and owning foundational and reusable ML blocks that can accelerate the rest of the team. 

Nice to Have:

• Preferred: Domain expertise in RecSys (recommendation systems)

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).Pay Range: $201,450—$237,000 USD
