About the role
The Senior Business Analyst, Commercial & Industrial will support Brookfield Renewable US in delivering complex renewable energy transactions to clients and fostering client relationships. This position is based in Brookfield’s New York City headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain research, analytics, marketing, and communication tools for the US energy markets in connection with client pitches
- Prepare outreach and proposal materials for commercial opportunities
- Support transaction analysis, risk analysis, transaction negotiation and reporting of complex commercial transactions throughout their life cycle
- Work collaboratively with other functions to ensure transactions meet the organization’s internal risk-return requirements and are compliant with all applicable policies/procedures/controls
- Interact and support discussions with clients, Trading, Risk, Legal, Capital Markets, M&A, and other key organization functions
Qualifications
- Strong, detail-oriented team player with deep business, analytical and presentation skills
- Ability to make quick decisions in the context of varied levels of risk and ambiguity
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Well-organized, meticulous and able to synthesize and conceptualize complex ideas
- Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative
- Heightened interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to meet multiple objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
- A solid understanding of derivative structuring, retail & wholesale energy markets
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of experience working as an analyst in a similar environment
- Bachelor`s or Master’s degree in engineering, economics, business, finance, sustainability, or other relevant discipline
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver results for multiple, concurrent complex tasks
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Knowledge of electric power generation and transmission systems
- Knowledge of renewable energy contracting, financing, and modelling
- Knowledge of ISO market rules and renewable procurement standards
- Qualified to work in the United States
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
