Job Description
NBCUniversal’s Enterprise Product Team builds products that provide essential capabilities to organizations throughout NBCUniversal. The team leverages deep relationships with our business engagement and engineering counterparts to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions for their clients or users. The product portfolio is aligned around critical NBCU functions such as Content/Title Management, Data & Analytics, Scheduling & Distribution, and Content Sales.
As a part of the Enterprise Product team, you will direct a group of managers, product owners, and specialists to enhance and develop cross-functional products within the On-air Scheduling and Entitlements space. You will define the strategic vision for your area and be a thoughtful and experienced leader, who can communicate our business partners’ strategic vision into multi-year product roadmaps. You will lead large initiatives and tackle major problems within the organization that align with NBCUniversal’s long-term strategy.
Essential Responsibilities
- Own the overall On-air Scheduling, Entitlements, and Distribution Product Strategy, accounting for future consolidations of traditional and digital traffic-to-payout and entitlement workflows, as well as playout transitions from on-prem to the cloud
- In collaboration with peers in Enterprise Product, Operations, Distribution Engineering, and Sales Ops, define the multi-network rollout strategy for One Platform Unified Traffic initiatives, accounting for both Ad Sales and Technology objectives and in consideration of traffic workflow consolidations
- Oversee the execution of new launches and ensure concurrent legacy system shutdowns
- Contribute to strategic decisions across scheduling-to-playout business and system workflows and ensure new product workflows are aligned with long-term product and technology objectives
- Evaluate the current state of Entitlement workflows across digital and broadcast and determine a go-forward consolidation strategy.
- Drive roadmap definition of a simplified Entitlements ecosystem that removes duplicative business activities and utilizes modernized technologies. Oversee the successful execution of the Entitlements roadmap.
- Evaluate partner products utilized by our Network Operations teams and create a product model that aids the execution of efforts across Operations and Distribution Engineering teams. Specifically focus on areas that represent dependencies between partner and in-house products and the associated development methodology alignments
- Ensure alignment across product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholder verticals, and be proactive in creating a collaboration environment that aids end-to-end deliveries
- Direct the work of all On-air Scheduling, Entitlements, and Distribution teams and establish an organizational structure to support business deliverables
- Assess existing functional product areas and the associated squad org structure, with considerations of upcoming business initiatives and Enterprise Product objectives.
- In collaboration with leaders of peer verticals, align individual resources and teams to best support new product deliverables and associated product burndowns
- Create staffing plans and drive recruiting efforts to ensure the product organization appropriately evolves with expanding business needs
- Advise managers on the creation of long-term roadmaps/plans and oversee cross-product execution
- Supervise and coach direct and indirect reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Product Management or equivalent experience required
- 7+ years of product management experience with a proven track record of delivering complex multi-product solutions
- 7+ years of experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
- 7+ years of experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities
- 7+ years of experience with Agile methodology, with a focus on leading multiple agile teams and managing cross-team dependencies
- Expertise in managing complex product rollouts
