Summary: As part of a mission-centric, locally delivered, and nationally powered
organization this role is accountable for building & maintaining strong relationships with
constituents while implementing innovative peer-to-peer fundraising tactics to exceed revenue
goals for Blood Cancer United’s mission, within the Athletics sport/event offering. Relentlessly
pursuing cancer cures.

Geography: Nationwide (Event)
Internal Partners: CDS, Region Partners, Business Development
External Relationships: Philanthropists engaging through designated sport or event.
Revenue Accountability: Designated sport or event(s)
Sponsorship: Actively selling Athletics sponsorships (Accountable to Cycle/event)


Mission Integration

• Partner with the Education, Services and Health Research department to effectively communicate Blood Cancer United’s overall mission, programs, resources and priorities.
• Responsible for organizing mission-centered, local donor cultivation events and prospecting high-impact donors for national stewardship activities.

Fundraising & Relationship Building

• Drive high-impact peer-to-peer fundraising for assigned sport/event(s) to achieve overall revenue goals by implementing best practices and success factors.
• Execute fundraising/revenue plans developed annually and revised periodically to ensure the team exceeds all revenue goals.
• Retain alumni and cultivate relationships with philanthropists for assigned sport or event(s).
• Collaborate with region teams and national shared service partners throughout Blood Cancer United.


Recruitment & Pipeline Development

• Build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline using prospecting, outreach, and relationship-building strategies to achieve and exceed recruitment and revenue targets.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure new prospects, sponsors, and partners to drive revenue growth across assigned sport(s) and events.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential participants, corporate partners, and donors through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship management.
• Lead recruitment efforts targeting individuals, teams, and organizations aligned with Blood Cancer United’s mission and fundraising priorities.
• Collaborate with corporate engagement and philanthropy teams to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that expand event participation and financial support.
• Utilize CRM systems and data insights to track pipeline activity, measure conversion rates, and refine recruitment and sales strategies.
• Represent Blood Cancer United at community and industry events to build awareness, generate leads, and strengthen connections with key influencers and decision-makers.

Participant Management

• Cultivate registered participants for assigned sport/events, partnering with them to build a fundraising plan and providing leadership/guidance in executing the plan.
• Utilizing established tools/best practices to coach philanthropists to the peer-to-peer fundraising best practices designated for assigned sport.
• Identify and network with constituents and key donors to engage their support of Blood Cancer United fundraising products.
• May have responsibility for the recruitment and cultivation of high-level committee leaders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2-3 years of experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital, social media & emerging online channels.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
• Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
• May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
• Travel to designated Athletic events and to designated markets for participant cultivation.
• Required to work some evenings or weekends.
• This position will be working remotely from home.
