ABS Consulting’s Extreme Loads and Structural Risk Division is seeking an experienced Explosion Hazard Analyst / Senior Manager Engineer to join our team.

What You Will Do:
- Facility Siting Analysis
- Quantitative Risk Assessment
- Fire & Explosion Risk Assessments
- Explosion, Fire and Toxic Modeling
- Explosion Testing and Similitude Modeling
- Advanced Finite Element Analysis: Nonlinear static, Nonlinear transient dynamic
- Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics Analyses
- Root Cause Analysis & Incident Investigations
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
- 15+ years of professional experience
- 15+ years of experience performing computational fluids dynamics (CFD) to predict both dispersion of accidental and intentional releases (such as LNG and LPG) along with the prediction of blast pressures to structures and personnel for both external in internal (confined) explosions
- 15+ years of experience performing consequence modeling using DNV PHAST.
- 15+ years of experience performing facility siting consequence and quantitative risk analysis (QRA) studies for petrochemical plants as part of the OSHA PSM requirements in 29 CFR 1910.119.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven track record of conducting fire/toxic/explosion hazards analysis.
- Working knowledge of facility siting and/or fire & explosion risk analysis (FERA)
- Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to speak well in group and/or client facing environments. English language fluency to conduct detailed business and technical communication at a professional level
It Would Be Nice If You Had:
- Master’s degree Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with CFD modeling using ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, COMSOL, or equivalent.
- Programming/scripting experience (.NET, Python, VBA).
- Project management experience.
