Performs routine experiments and responsible for day-to-day operations of lab.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform experiments, collect data, and perform data analysis.
Record details of procedures in laboratory notebooks.
Manage the laboratory budget, including purchases and billing.
Maintain databases of laboratory analyses and laboratory inventory.
Assist in laboratory experiment setup, calibration and maintenance.
Serve as a safety coordinator for the lab.
Coordinate work schedules of students in the laboratory.
Conducts experiments and routine procedures.
Monitors/evaluates experiments.
Maintains records/reports.
Writes interpretative reports/summaries.
Conducts literature searches.
May contribute to design of experimental protocols and research.
Orders lab supplies.
Orders/maintains chemical inventories.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
