Position Summary

Performs routine experiments and responsible for day-to-day operations of lab.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform experiments, collect data, and perform data analysis.

• Record details of procedures in laboratory notebooks.

• Manage the laboratory budget, including purchases and billing.

• Maintain databases of laboratory analyses and laboratory inventory.

• Assist in laboratory experiment setup, calibration and maintenance.

• Serve as a safety coordinator for the lab.

• Coordinate work schedules of students in the laboratory.

• Conducts experiments and routine procedures.

• Monitors/evaluates experiments.

• Maintains records/reports.

• Writes interpretative reports/summaries.

• Conducts literature searches.

• May contribute to design of experimental protocols and research.

• Orders lab supplies.

• Orders/maintains chemical inventories.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
• Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

$16.92 - $26.44 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
