Position Overview:
The Principal Architect monitors technological advancements to ensure solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards and emerging business requirements. They understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and they understand the impact of changes. ThePrincipal Architect ensures performance and reliability, enhances scalability, and meets security requirements. They are skilled across frontend, backend, data, and DevOps development practices and can conduct complex work.
They are also able to provide input on proposals for new work and contribute to business development efforts by providing practice-specific input. They directly influence our customers toward better outcomes, based on trust and competency, while providing vision for other engineers. They may be expected to manage a medium-to-large team.?
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the planning, architecture, and design of customer projects
- Develop and maintain the strategic Cloud IT solutions to address the future needs and plans for enterprise architecture, platforms, technologies, and tools required to sustain a high level of application performance
- Architect and manage a real-time, event-driven system, with observability tools
- Develop secure RESTful API Services
- Build strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions
- Cultivate innovation allowing for new and better ways for the company to be successful
- Collaborate well with cross functional executive-level peers; able to drive decisions when consensus is lacking
- Develop technical road map and evolve it
- Support efforts to improve data architectures, data pipelines, data security, data models and database designs
- Set and enforce best practices and coding standards that promote code reusability, maintainability, and performance
Required Qualifications:
- Education Required: A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. With eight years of general information technology experience and at least four years of specialized experience, a degree is not required.
- Minimum/General Experience: Minimum of 4 years of system architecture experience
- Minimum of 10 plus YOS
- 10+ years software engineering experience across object-oriented-programming languages (preferred JavaScript, C#, Python)
- 4+ years of system architecture experience
- AWS Certified, CCIE, CCNA, ITIL
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong experience in Javascript (React), C#/.Net (Blazor), Python, SQLServer, and MongoDB
- Thorough understanding of AWS infrastructure and services including VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), Security Groups, IAM (Identity and Access Management), Cloud Formations, EC2, etc.
- Prior experience developing real-time, event-drivenarchitectures and secure RESTful API Services.
- Experience with networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies)
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Cloud Formations, Ansible, and similar tools from the network level up through the application provisioning level.
- Knowledgeable with leading CI/CD tools (e.g.Github?Actions) and best practices.
- Knowledgeable with leading Observability Best Practices.
- Ability to develop comprehensive project documentation, such as playbooks, how-to docs, design docs, presentations.
- Hands-on knowledge of current technology standards/trends coupled with a desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills.
- Strong analytical problem-solving ability, and an ability to manage change and cope with complex and ambiguous situations.
