Your primary responsibility will be to manage engineering teams to build and maintain the platform that supports the money movement of our industry leading payment engine moving hundreds of millions everyday. <br/> <br/> This role is based in Spain; the majority of our engineering team in Spain are based out of our Valencia office. However, as a remote-first business, we are able to hire for this role anywhere across Spain. </p><p>As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you'll be overseeing various teams and in charge of designing new functionalities and improving the current capabilities to improve speed, cost and scalability of our product. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, pragmatic design, building quality products and to convey the sensation that the product is the responsibility of all the team is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality code in a team defined timeframe. </p><ul><li>Manage and support daily activities of engineering managers and oversee their respective teams</li><li>Track success of engineering managers and underlying team based on established goals and objectives</li><li>Establish objectives and work plans as well as propose strategies to upper management</li><li>Develop solutions and execution strategies where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of business objectives</li><li>Work with customers concerning project requirements, operational decisions, and/or contractual clarifications as needed</li><li>Play a strong technical role on projects and set priorities for the team to ensure task completion</li><li>Work on issues of limited scope with the ability to find and execute solutions to routine problems</li><li>Review and analyze code to identify areas for improvement, ensuring the attainment of clean, high-quality, testable, secure, and maintainable code</li><li>Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.</li><li>Provide estimates, track progress, assess risk and manage the time of team members</li><li>Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results</li><li>Partake in the recruitment process by identifying and exciting great talent</li><li>Understand scalability and performance status and make improvements</li><li>Drive change and improvement in all phases of the development lifecycle</li><li>Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications</li><li>Contribute to the product vision by collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders</li><li>Demonstrate strong project management skills and successful completion of projects</li><li>Show the ability to achieve results across organizations and geographies</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Here’s What We’re Looking For:</strong></p><ul><li>15 years of experience in application development</li><li>5 years of managing and developing engineering teams</li><li>Experience in designing, developing and supporting scalable, performant and reliable services and distributed systems</li><li>Product oriented mindset</li><li>Prior experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure etc.</li><li>Understanding of relational databases </li><li>Strong understanding of object-oriented fundamentals</li><li>Great understanding of the other disciplines in the cross functional team: QAs, Product and SREs</li><li>Fluent in English, as it is the com
