Your New Role...
As a Senior Specialist, Public Affairs at Warner Bros., you will be a key contributor to the company’s public affairs and community engagement strategy. Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs, you will help build and maintain relationships with elected officials, film commissioners, and community stakeholders to support WB’s business interests and social impact initiatives. This role is instrumental in coordinating outreach efforts in communities affected by production activities, managing public affairs events, and supporting legislative tracking and advocacy.
You will work cross-functionally with internal teams—including Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, and Community Engagement—to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and stakeholder engagement. Your ability to navigate complex policy environments, manage logistics, and communicate effectively will be essential in representing WBD’s values and priorities across diverse audiences. This position reflects WB’s commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen and a trusted partner in the communities where we operate.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Represent Warner Bros. Discovery in meetings, special events, and tours with elected officials, film commissioners, and other key stakeholders to advance business interests and strengthen external relationships.
- Collaborate with the Director of Public Affairs to develop and execute strategic engagement plans for communities impacted by WBD’s production activities, including stakeholder identification, issue resolution, and coordination with nonprofit partners.
- Organize and manage logistics for public affairs events, stakeholder meetings, and screenings, ensuring alignment with WBD’s corporate messaging and community engagement goals.
- Facilitate onboarding calls with film and television productions to introduce Public Affairs, Sustainability, and Corporate Responsibility programs, and maintain a global tracking database of active productions.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at the state and local levels, and coordinate with internal subject matter experts to ensure WBD’s advocacy positions are accurately represented.
- Support communication and relationship management with Warner Bros. Studio neighbors, including timely notifications of production, construction, or event-related impacts.
- Conduct research on policy issues, nonprofit organizations, and community needs to inform outreach strategies and support data-driven decision-making across Public Affairs initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience...
- 2-4 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or stakeholder engagement, preferably within a corporate or entertainment industry setting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally across diverse audiences and manage sensitive issues with discretion.
- Experience working in a legislative office, entertainment/media company, or event management environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and legislative tracking tools is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
